I'm Carolina de Barros, a PhD candidate in social-personality psychology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
I'm a relationship scientist. I study how people in diverse forms of romantic relationships (queer relationships, consensually non-monogamous relationships, and kinky/BDSM relationships, among others) navigate what it means for a relationship to be "romantic" and the social or cultural norms their relationships challenge. I'm also interested in romantic and sexual attraction in general, as well as positive sexual minority identity.
I'm a big fan of mixed-methods work, and have both qualitative training and experience (using interpretative phenomenological analysis, reflexive thematic analysis, and grounded theory) as well as statistical training and experience (including with SEM and multilevel modelling).
I'm currently in the last year of my degree and on the job market. I'm interested in postdoc and other academic opportunities in Canada and Europe, as well as industry positions.
